The pottery's studio is in Kumamoto. And the potter and my father are familiar. So, I visited the pottery's studio and gallery with my parents when I went to Kumamoto last week, and we saw the kiln this time. It was so interesting!
Have you ever seen the kiln? Actually I saw it for the first time. And this kiln is made by the potter. It’s amazing, isn’t it? Anyway I want you to enjoy seeing these photos.
This big kiln is in hillside. The potters continue putting firewood in the small hole of kiln for four days.
I went into the kiln! The inside
His two sons are also potters. So,there're difference type's potteries in the gallery. Gallery
Today's article is interesting as always.
The pottery and the potter are very fine.
For me, since I am originally a chemist, ceramics was sometimes an object of my study.
The process at the pottery resembles the chemical process for the ceramics using a furnace for calcinization.
The calcinization temperature was sometimes up to 1,000 degree C, or sometimes even more.
But potting has not only chemistry but also art.
The art is so deep in mind.
